Childcare Resources Announces New Board Leadership for 2025
New Board of Directors Named as Advocates for Early Education
Childcare Resources, a Birmingham-based non-profit organization and United Way of Central Alabama partner agency, has announced new Executive Officers and Board Members for 2025. The leadership, including six new members, will continue to drive philanthropic endeavors to support the organization’s mission through innovative partnerships, donor relations, advocacy, and strategic planning.
“The number of children in Alabama between the ages of three and four who are not enrolled in school has grown to 72,000 in just the past few years.” says Joan Wright, Executive Director of Childcare Resources. “Our Board leadership values Childcare Resources as a contributing solution to the challenges families face in accessing and affording care and is committed to championing efforts to ensure all children receive the necessary resources and critical skills needed to reach their full potential.”
The Executive Officers and Board Members for 2025 include:
Chair: Kelly Metz — Director, Accounting Operations, Synovus Bank
Vice Chair: Lauren Leach — AVP, Planning and Population Health, UAB Medicine
Secretary: Dr. Kristin Powell — Psychologist/Consultant, Blankenship & Seay Consulting
Treasurer: Michael “Mike” Rebholz — VP of Operations, Protective Life
Past Chair: Elizabeth “Liz” Hyde — President, Hyde Engineering Inc.
New Members include Molly Echols (Director of Internal Audit & Compliance Officer, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama), Sydney L. Evans (Client & Community Relations Specialist, PNC Financial Services Group), Denise Hill (Assistant CAO, Synovus), Henry C. Mims (Customer Service Training Manager, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama), Cathy Turner (Executive Administrator, UAB Department of Pediatrics), and Shuntee Wright (Licensed Professional Counselor/Case Manager, Lucet Behavioral Health).
