Get to know Kelly.
I am a working mom and wife right here in Birmingham. For 25 years I have worked for Synovus Bank in accounting where I am the Director of Accounting Operations.
My husband Bryan and I have been married for 8 years, and we have one son, Bo, who is 6 years old.
In my free time and on the weekends, I love spending time with my boys, watching college football (Roll Tide!), and I enjoy singing on the worship team at church.
How did you get involved with Childcare Resources?
I first heard about Childcare Resources at a Momentum Conference while I was expecting Bo. We were looking for childcare after my parental leave, so I was drawn to their booth, and we used their resources to search for child care options. Talk about full circle!
What is the most rewarding aspect of working with Childcare Resources?
Seeing children receive the same quality care that my son has had the privilege of receiving and seeing parents be able to provide for their families-- knowing their children are being taken care of and loved.
What is your favorite service or program provided by Childcare Resources?
The Supplemental Child Care Program (SCCP) for sure. While we have had the resources as a family to provide childcare for Bo, I do understand the exuberant cost of childcare and how that could keep parents, moms especially, from being a part of the workforce. The SCCP program provides assistance allowing more parents to get back out into the workforce!

What do you hope to see in the future of child care?
"I hope to see an adaptation to changing societal needs while maintaining a focus on the well-being and development of children."
