Birmingham, Alabama (January 23, 2019) ─ Childcare Resources, a Birmingham-based non-profit organization that makes quality child care happen by providing information, education, and assistance to families, providers of child care, and the community, has announced the new Executive Committee and Members of their Board of Directors for 2019. The leadership, including three new members, will continue to drive philanthropic endeavors to support the organization’s mission through community partnerships, donor relations, advocacy, and strategic planning, and will be installed on Friday, January 18, 2019 during the Agency Annual Meeting to be held at Childcare Resources.
“VOICES for Alabama’s Children 2018 Alabama Kids Count Data Book reports that 27% of children in Alabama live in poverty, while two-thirds of Alabama’s children live in households where both parents are in the workforce. Thankfully, our volunteer leaders value Childcare Resources as a contributing solution to helping children in our community find access to high quality education, and will champion efforts to grant these families access to resources and support rather than forego the opportunity for a brighter future for their children as a result of cost,” said Joan Wright, Executive Director of Childcare Resources. “Our Board Members work tirelessly for those in need.”
