Catrice Pruitt, Director of Programs at Childcare Resources
Catrice Pruitt began her career at Childcare Resources as a Child Development Consultant in 2012. With her longstanding relationship with the agency, professional experience, and passion for early childhood education, Childcare Resources is pleased to announce her return to the team as the Director of Programs. Pruitt has nearly thirteen years of experience working in early care and education as a previous teacher, child care program director, and in the nonprofit sector. Throughout her career, she has maintained a strong professional relationship with Childcare Resources.
Pruitt holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Miles College, a master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Alabama State University, and is currently working toward a doctoral degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She has presented at the South Carolina Early Childhood Association (SCECA) Conference and the National Council for Teaching English (NCTE Conference), and participated in the Council for Professional Recognition, Leadership, and Learning webinar series. She has experience working as an Education Specialist (B5 Coach) for the Alabama Department of Early Childhood Education, and is a member of the Bold Goals Education Steering Committee and the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
“Much of what I know today is attributed to growing and developing my knowledge base, building relationships, and connecting with community partners to advocate for our youngest learners,” said Pruitt. “Returning to Childcare Resources in this new role is like returning home.”
Pruitt plans to lead the Programs Department by developing partnerships with agencies and organizations to implement local and statewide comprehensive early childhood services. In this role, Pruitt hopes to be a servant leader for her team and community so that Childcare Resources can continue building a workforce that will make quality child care happen for all children. She looks forward to seeing the smiles of families and child care providers who benefit from Childcare Resources’ programs and services. Pruitt is passionate about early childhood education and looks forward to encouraging her team to succeed in providing the best start in life for the children in our community.
