Join us the week of April 2 - 8 in celebrating Week of the Young Child, an annual celebration hosted by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC)!
Childcare Resources believes in the value of high-quality early education, and we hope you will join us this year as we spotlight the importance of providing our youngest neighbors with the best start to succeed in school and life.
Music Monday: Studies have shown that listening to music can help boost a child’s self-esteem and social skills, and can even help them focus. Check out these strategies to incorporate music into your child's daily routine.
Tasty Tuesday: On Tasty Tuesday, try making a delicious recipe with your children! Studies show that teaching young children how to help in the kitchen can encourage strong language skills and basic math concepts. Try incorporating these baking habits to encourage your child’s math skills!
Work Together Wednesday: Children are able to learn the importance of working together from a young age. Encourage your children to explore, create, and learn through meaningful play with these ideas from NAEYC. Another way we can Work Together is to consider inviting a friend to support Childcare Resources through a one-time gift, in honor of someone they love, or to check out the resources on our website for parents and child care providers as we work together to provide brighter futures for the children and families we serve each and every day.
Artsy Thursday: Inspire children to use their imagination and creativity on Artsy Thursday! You can support your child’s development of creativity by learning the differences between process art and product art. Click here to learn more!
Family Friday: Use Family Friday to focus on engaging families to support our youngest learners. Parents and families are children’s first teachers. Click here for a few ideas to support the development and learning of the children in your care through engaging the family.
There is so much that children learn as they sing, cook together, build together, create art, and celebrate with their families.
We hope you will participate in Week of the Young Child as we work together to build a healthy start for the future of our community!
