Childcare Resources' training is led by individuals who have experience in the child care field as teachers and administrators. They understand your challenges and responsibilities. Sessions are interactive, informative and FUN.
Training is available week-days, evenings, and Saturdays virtually, at our offices, or at local venues in the area including child care programs.

In Person

In-person trainings held at Childcare Resources or another specified location at a specific date and time.

Live Virtual Training

Online training with a live instructor at a specific date and time through Childcare Resources' Online Portal.

​

Learners must be present for the duration of the training to receive credit. Learners who are driving or attending to other matters while on the Live Virtual Training will not receive a certificate.

Training On Demand
(1 Week)

Self-guided, self-paced online training course through Childcare Resources' Online Portal.

The training is available for a specified week-long period.

All course work must be completed to receive full credit.

Canvas Catalog

Self-guided, self-paced online training course through Childcare Resources’ Canvas Catalog.

​

Participants can register and attend Canvas Catalog trainings at any time during the course availability dates. Courses are self-guided, and available online for 30 days.

 

All sections of the session must be completed to receive full credit.

Training Sessions

All training sessions at Childcare Resources are:

​

  1. Evaluated for Continuing Education Unit (CEU) approval
     

  2. Available for CEU credit if they meet the rigorous review process in accordance with IACET standards
     

  3. Related to one of the Department of Human Resources (DHR) Categories of Study, Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential categories, Alabama Pathways Core Knowledge Areas (CKA), and the Child Care Development Fund (CCDF).
     

  4. Eligible for participants to receive a certificate for each session that documents attendance, session title, content area, contact hours and CEU’s (if applicable)

CPR & First Aid

Training Information & Resources

Alabama Department of Public Health (Healthy Child Care Alabama) offers onsite trainings for CPR and First Aid.

CPR and First Aid can only be trained by a certified BLS/CPR Instructor.

Additional Resources

Technical Assistance

Customized assistance from our staff for child care programs wanting to grow and learn through individualized professional development. Child care facility staff work one-on-one with a Child Development Consultant for one year, allowing participants to receive guidance needed to excel as an early childhood professional.

Trainings to Go

On-Site Training

Customized training for individual child care programs to address specific training needs. A minimum of ten participants is required for a Training to Go.

Goals
  • Enhance best practices within child care facilities

  • Assist child care professionals with putting knowledge into action

Child care programs are limited to two onsite trainings per year (October 1 through September 30). Some onsite trainings will require technical assistance. Limited availability; services rendered will be on a first come first served basis.

Online Training

Childcare Resources offers online training for early childhood professionals. Our training courses are designed to help you complete annual training requirements and acquire required training hours for those seeking a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, CDA credential renewal or in-service training.
