Are applications being accepted?
As of March 1, 2016, applications are being accepted.
Is there a waiting list?
Yes, all eligible families are placed on the waiting list. Families are placed on the list in the order their application was received.
How long is the waiting list?
Generally, a family will be on the waiting list for 0-3 months.
Must a family meet all 5 eligibility requirements?
Yes, to complete an application and be placed on the waiting list a family must meet all 5 of the eligibility requirements.
What happens when my name comes up on the waiting list?
Families will be mailed a letter inviting them to come into the agency for a group interview. The letter will list the documentation that must be submitted to determine eligibility for the program.
Is there a parent fee and how much will my parent fee be?
Yes, each family will have a parent fee. Parent fees are determined by family size and income. Documentation provided by the family will be used to determine the parent fee.
How long can a family receive financial assistance?
Child care assistance is awarded for a maximum of 6 months. At the end of 6 months, a family will re-determine by mail. Families can continue to receive assistance as long as they meet eligibility requirements, report changes timely, and funds are available.
What family changes must be reported?
Changes in income, family size, work status, marital status and address must be reported within 10 days of the date the change occurred. Changes must be reported on the change form.
Which child care programs accept payment from Childcare Resources?
Many child care providers accept payment from Childcare Resources. To participate in the financial assistance program, child care providers must complete a provider registration form, be legally operating and meet DHR minimum licensing standards. Childcare Resources’ Resource and Referral program can assist a family in locating child care.
How can I locate child care?
